¿What is the role of women and men in the life of marriage? In South Korea when a man and a woman get married, the woman have to leave her parents and move to her Husband’s house. The man is the sole provider and decision maker in the marriage.

¿What is the role of women and men in the house? The husband is the head of the family and males in general receive a lot of respect. On the other hand, the wife have to take care of her mother in law and father in law. Also the oldest son have to take care of his grandparents.

¿What is the role of women and men in working life? Today the majority of korean women go to the university. However men have a better job position. This happen because companies preferes hire men upon women. The companies are worried about hire a woman because she will leave when she marries and get home responsibilities.

This gender roles in South Korea are changing with the time but in a slow way. A example of this is the first woman president of the country: Park Geun-hye (2013-2017). In the past a woman could not get this position in the country.

In Colombia also are some of this gender stereotypes. As south Korea, one of the most common gender roles in Colombia is that the wife just have to take care of the children and the house. She can not study and depends economically of her husband.
